Homecoming Events at Westwood Heights Schools
We are off to a great start to the new school year, and our Homecoming is already here. We are planning an exciting week of events, with our top priority being the safety of our school community. Among the highlights are:
Friday, October 7, 2022
• Pep Rally will take place during 5th and 6th hours.
• The homecoming parade leaves from the McMonagle Elementary parking lot at 5:30 PM. It will take Jennings Road North to Carpenter and turn right on its way to Hamady High School. The parade will include Alumni, students, floats, and a special appearance by the Central State University Marching Band. The 125 member HBCU Band will entertain our community along the parade route, and before and during the game.
• The homecoming game against Flint Southwestern will begin at 7:00 at Hamady Field. All tickets must be purchased in advance, as there will be no tickets sold at the gate, and no vehicles allowed into the parking lot without all passengers possessing a ticket. Students must have a valid student ID and all students’ grades K-12 must have a parent or guardian with them to attend. Tickets will be sold in the Hamady Office starting tomorrow and are $5 each.
• Adults only may reserve a ticket by having your name placed on a will call list. Call the Hamady Office at 810-591-0890 to have your name put on the list.
• No re-entry will be allowed at the game, and the entrance at Carpenter Road will be closed at halftime. Parents wishing to pick up their students from the game should meet them in the parking lot of the Jackson Memorial Temple Church of God In Christ, which is located just east of the Carpenter Road entrance. We will have staff members to escort them to your car.
• The Homecoming Court will be introduced at halftime and the Homecoming King and Queen announced. The Hamady High Band will also perform.
Saturday, October 8, 2022
• The homecoming dance will take place at Hamady Middle High School between 7:00pm-10:00pm. The doors will close at 8:00pm so students must arrive before then. Only Hamady students who have purchased tickets ahead of time can attend, along with guest students who have been pre-approved by their administrators. There will be no tickets sold at the door.
